Field To Throne – How God Wants To Take You Higher

Field to throne is for the person that feels like they have no purpose. Like they aren’t being pursued by God anymore and like God isn’t with them. Field to throne is a seed of hope for you.

All to often we think “God isn’t using me” or “God isn’t in this place” when those things are far from the truth. I can relate to the person that says those two things in their head because I’ve said them before to myself. But I want you to know, that God is not through with you. He still has a plan, he still has a purpose and he still loves you dearly.

In the scripture we see in the book of 2 Samuel where David is being talked to by God and what God says to him speaks volumes of truth to the emptiness we fill ourselves with. Below are the scriptures that add value and life to us and what you’ll discover is yes indeed, the Lord is in this place loving you each step of the way.

“Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth. (2 Samuel 7:8-9)

David has an incredible story in going from a shepherding a flock to becoming king of Israel and through the entire journey God never left him. God raised up a king in David and these verses take place not long after David had been king of Israel. I want to take these verses piece by piece and go through them inserting seeds of hope inside of you.

Hope #1 – God Has A Purpose For Me

“Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.”

God wants to take you to new places that you’ve never been before. Just like God did with David he wants to do with you. Take you to a place of new hope and influence all for your good and his glory.

Maybe you can’t quite see it just yet. Thinking “How can God take me a nobody and use me for something good” and “God can’t use my current position for good.” The awesome thing about God is that he doesn’t have to wait for you to get a new job or get new influence. He wants to take you just as you are. Just as you are in your current state just like David. God never said to David “Once you become king I will anoint you” no he called on David right where David was.

God wants to do the same for you. God wants to use you at your job to lead faith conversations. God wants to use you to start a revival at your school. God wants to use you to go and build something from scratch to be a blessing to others. God has so much in store for you that you haven’t seen nothing yet. It’s time to shake off the doubt, the thoughts of unworthiness and put on the faith even if it’s just a little. Believe that God will use you and take you to new places that you’ve never seen before! I believe it and declare it. Forget about what you don’t have and ask God to breath on what you do have.

Hope #2 – God Is In This Place

I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you.

Maybe you’re the person that feels like God hasn’t always been with you or at some point he had forgotten you. I resonate with that because that was me at point in my life. I’ve felt like that when I wasn’t trying my best to follow God but can I plant a seed of hope in you?

The good news is that God was with David in the field just as he was with him on the throne!

We talked earlier about how God wants to use you to do something great and something new. How God wants to take you to new levels of faith. In order for God to do that we’ve got to understand that God is not waiting on us to get to a new place, he’s already in the place that we’re. God promised David t he is with him and has been with him.

God is ready to develop you, to equip you and to begin a new work in you right now doing exactly what you’re doing right now. Are you ready? It’s time to start thinking like you’re a child of God that has a purpose and hope.

Ask God to take you to new levels of influence, invite God to work in you right where you are and watch what God does.

Hope #3 – God Wants To Give You A New Name

“Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth.”

You might be the person who doesn’t have a good name. Maybe you’ve thought “When people think of me they think _______.” Or “My name only carries weight from my families history.”

David was a shepherd in a field, no one knew who he was but his family. In fact when David did show up people thought he was weak! That didn’t stop God from using David to do something great!

Whatever weight your name carries God wants to change that. You might think you have a bad name but God wants to give you a new meaning to your name. He wants to build you up and develop you into who he’s called you to be.

Why on earth does God want to use me to do something great? (I used to think this)

The answer is because he specializes in taking the weak and making them strong! In taking the hopeless and giving them hope, in taking the addict and setting them free and even in causing people to think of you in a whole different way. God wants your name to glorify how great he is.

Start believing that God has a new hope for you with a new name and purpose. Believe that he has and will be with you. Believe that he’ll take you places that you couldn’t imagine!

Take It From Me

I was a nobody who didn’t even have a plan for my life. God literally saved me and took me right where I was and gave me a new purpose. I’ve seen things I never thought I’d see and I’ve been places I never thought I would go! All because I realized that God is with me and has been with me, he wants to use me to do something great and finally he wants to give me a greater name that glorifies him.
