How To Overcome Feeling Stuck

Have you ever been in a situation or a season coming to an end where you had no idea on what to do next or what was even coming next? Where you your emotions were running wild because you couldn’t see how everything would just seemingly fall into place. This is not a fun place to be in because if you’re like me you maybe stressed a little bit because you had no idea what the heck to do next!

April 2016 was this place for me. Everything was going just wonderful, I was in school, doing internships and staying super busy with my job. Until I graduated college. Upon graduation I couldn’t stop thinking “I don’t know what to do next” and “I’m so stuck” but the truth is that was just my emotions talking to me. Even though I was stressed out like you may be right now in whatever circumstance you’re in, I learned the trick to coming through a tough place like this.

Remaining Grateful

As I was in the midst of this season with nothing planned and no idea of what to do next, I began thinking about what I could simply do in the moment. After thinking about I realized this – I must do what God has me doing faithfully. Which means the more faithful we are the more grateful we’ll become. Because God won’t give us what’s next if we aren’t grateful for what we’ve got.

The more faithful we are the more grateful we’ll become

I learned that God always has us doing something no matter what it is. For me it was my job outside of school. I had to keep doing my job faithfully even when school ended in order to receive what God had next. For you it might be resting, reading, learning, mentoring or maybe even healing before you start something new. Whatever God has you doing right now, do it faithfully because you never know what’s going to happen next. At any moment you could recieve that phone call that would thrust you into a different season of your life.

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” (Luke 16:10)

God Always Makes A Way

While I was working my job faithfully and just trusting that God would come through I got the most random phone call I’ve ever gotten. I got a phone call from a non-profit and they asked would I like a position ministering to teenagers all across the country! I was so shocked when this happened because I was not thinking that God had this planned at all. Here is the trick, if we are faithful with what God has us doing right now then we’ll receive what God has for us next.

For you a miracle phone call might not happen, it may be that you finally get the help you need to heal. It may be that you finally found the right mentor or heck it could even be that God opened the door for you to find a new church to attend. God has big blessings waiting for us and he wants to give them to us. Our part is being faithful with what we’ve got now.

On that ministry job I ended up getting to preach to hundreds of teens from across the country and I also met the love of my life! God had big things in store for me and I really do believe that I received it because I was faithful with what I had.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Do you believe that verse? If so know that God is working on your behalf and know that he will start a new thing (Isaiah 43:19). I God will propel you into a new season I can promise you! All you’ve got to do is be faithful with what God has you doing right now and keep believing that the best is yet to come.

I hope you enjoyed reading this article! If I can help you in any way please reach out to me. i would love to be praying for you and to do whatever I could to help. Be faithful with what you’ve got now and God will give you more.
