Surrender = Satisfaction

Recently I was at a local tag office and while I was waiting I couldn’t help but overhear the song that was playing over the speakers. It caught my attention because it’s exactly how a lot of people feel right now in this world. The lyrics went like this:

“Is there anything left in this world that will satisfy me, I don’t want to deny my soul the chance to feel something real”

There’s many people that feel this way as if they’re searching for something to satisfy that longing in their hearts.

There are many things that we could try and fill that longing void with just to try and feel something real. It could be a relationship, a job, an addiction to something, winning at everything, a certain number of likes or views, an education and even hearing affirmation about ourselves.

The Truth We Have To Face

The truth is none of those things or anything else that we try and put in that void will ever make us feel something real. It might happen temporarily but it will never last. Things of this world were never meant to satisfy the human heart and soul. The longer we try and replace what only Jesus is meant for with worldly things the longer we’ll feel empty just like the lady singing those lyrics.

How To Fill The Void

Filling the void was never meant to be an impossible task to do. All it takes is to do this one thing and it’s called surrender.

That word scares some people because you automatically think about giving up control when you surrender but it’s the best thing we could ever do.

What do I surrender to? Jesus.

Jesus wants to satisfy and fill that void in your heart and soul.

“For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.” (‭‭Psalms‬ ‭107:9‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalms‬ ‭16:11‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

In Jesus there is complete satisfaction and joy. He fills the longing heart and soul with his overflowing goodness and mercy.

Following Jesus and surrendering to him is not about keeping a list of rules for the rest of your life. It’s about living in an overflow of satisfaction and joy for the rest of your life.

Jesus is the only thing that was ever meant to satisfy the deepest parts of us. He knows you better than you know yourself. The Bible also says that “I know the number of hairs on your head” and “I have plans to prosper and not harm you. (Jeremiah)

How To Recieve It

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

That’s all it takes to receive the precious gift that is offered to us. All we have to do is surrender our lives and believe. Here is a prayer to help you if you need it:

“Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and I believe that you died for my sins and rose from the grave. I surrender my life to you and invite you to come into my heart.”

When you pray something like that or something similar God power washes your heart and your new journey begins!

I’d love to help you along your journey. Feel free to leave a comment or send me an email and I’d love to help you anyway I can.
