God can do anything! Whether that’s providing for a big financial blessing or maybe providing gas to fill up the car. God can provide for us in many ways also in simple ways that we don’t even think about.
Often it’s not that “God won’t provide” it’s that we won’t ask. Maybe you need that financial blessing that would really be a blessing to you or maybe you are hurting for the blessing of a material thing. Whatever the need is I’ve got one question for you, are you asking God for those things?
When We Ask God Will Provide
God doesn’t just want to provide for what we call big blessings like a house or something. God can do that but he also wants to bless us in smaller ways that we may not think about God for.
I moved to Alaska all by myself with no family, not a lot of money, no job and no car. All I had was a suitcase of clothes! At one point I remember thinking, I really need a towel because I had nothing. It’s pretty bad when you are needing a towel isn’t it?
I remember having this thought, “I could go and try to buy one or trust and ask God to provide just like he had been in the past.”
I chose to trust that God would provide and I will never forget praying one night in my bedroom a prayer that simply asked God for a towel. I asked God to provide me with a towel I know that sounds crazy but I really deep down believed that God could do it! I understood that God doesn’t just want to bless me with a job or a car but also with smaller things like a towel.
It Takes Faith Like A Mustard Seed
Do you have faith to ask God for simple things? Maybe you’re asking God for big things but seem to forget that God can also answer other prayers. What kind of faith does it take to ask God for something like a towel? It’s something so simple that we could go and get ourselves but it’s radical trusting God for that.
A couple of days went by and I remember going to the mail box and a box was there for me. I had told no one about my prayer or my need for a towel. I opened the box to see what it was and guess what was in that box… one freaking towel. God sent me a towel all the way from South Carolina!
God provided for me and he took care of me just like he wants to take care of you.
Maybe it’s not something as small as a towel maybe it’s your next tank of gas. Do you believe God can provide? Maybe it’s your next rent. Do you believe God can provide? Maybe it’s even your next shampoo bottle. I know that sounds crazy, but do you believe that God can provide? See, our God says this:
“He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
God says faith like a mustard seed can move a mountain! It takes faith to get God to move in our lives.
Faithless prayers equal empty blessings
Whatever it is I promise you that our God can and will provide for you. He loves nothing more than to take care of his children and I promise you with faith, you will be taken care of.
Take a step and trust God. I promise you will be thankful that you did. God is waiting to bless you in ways you can’t even imagine. Will you join him and start asking?
