The One Thing Jesus Wants You To Know

We often get caught up in speaking for Jesus when it comes to our lives and what’s going on. We’ll say things to ourselves that Jesus never actually said to us like “he’ll never give me more than I can handle.”

It’s super important to understand Jesus’ primary thought when he thinks about you.

Jesus cares more about your heart than he does anything else.

He cares about the condition of your heart more than he does anything else. Why? I think sometimes we forget that Jesus is personal.

Everyone he ever talked to he was super personal with. That’s just who he is and how he operates.

Jesus is loving, caring, kind, compassionate and empathetic. He understands how you feel and he wants to change your heart for the better.

So often when we are praying for something physical to happen like finances, a car, a relationship or anything else Jesus is saying… “wait a minute, I want to work on your heart. Will you trust me?”

40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:41-42)

As Jesus was visiting with Martha and Mary, Martha was so fixated on the physical that she missed what Jesus was doing right in front of her face. She couldn’t stop wondering what was going to happen, she couldn’t stop doing and start listening.

Reflect:

Your next step today may be to stop doing everything and trying to fit it on your own. It’s time to lay down what’s heavy on your heart and submit to Jesus. He cares about what you care about and he wants to speak to you.

He wants you to get alone with him and talk to him expressing how you feel. Jesus does care about the outside, but it’s within where Jesus does the most work.

He wants freedom and joy for you springing up from within.

  • Will you take time to get with him today and let him talk to you?
