2 Ways To Stay Focused On Jesus

When we wake up in the morning, we have the power to determine how our day is going to go. We can choose to start the day by saying “Today is not going to be good because I have to work, then do laundry and then make dinner tonight.” Thinking like that will not cause you to be focused on Jesus but rather on all of the tasks that are going to keep you busy during the day.

Waking up and focusing on the tasks that we have to do during the day will take our focus away from Jesus throughout the day.

We can wake up and say “Today is going to be great, I am blessed, I am awake, I am alert and I have a duty to fulfill today” When you start your day with thinking like that, you are declaring victory over your day. You have already set your mind on having a positive day that will be focused on Jesus.

When we wake up and get in the mindset of being blessed by God, then throughout the day will be focused on God. When we are focusing on God during the day, we will be full of joy and we will not be focused on the tiny things that we get upset about like the tasks that are ahead of us. Having a day where you are focused on Jesus everyday is not easy. It takes determination to wake up everyday and get in the mindset of being focused on Jesus.

2 Ways To Focus On Jesus

1. Be Thankful

In the book of Thessalonians, Paul tells us to be thankful in all circumstances. We can apply this verse before we start our day by thanking Jesus for the day, the people in our lives and the tasks that Jesus has equipped us to do.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.   (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Being thankful to Jesus in the morning will ultimately bring us more joy than anything else.

2. Submit To God

Submitting to God in the morning before we start our day is saying this “God, today is a gift from you. I am going to live this day for you and do what you tell me to do.” In the bible it tells us in the book of Job that if we submit to God then peace and prosperity will come our way.

Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. (Job 22:21)

When we submit to God before the day, we will be focused on him an his richness instead of this world and the tasks that are in it.
