Gotta Be A Go Getter

Howdy! Being a go getter sucks. No really, it does. Because that means we have to get off our butt and go after something. I was reminded of this recently when I ordered a bracelet offline. 

What the heck does a bracelet have to do with being a go getter? When I ordered this thing called a wanderer bracelet I couldn’t wait for it to get here! It was handmade and hand crafted by people in another country. Well, I was tracking it all the way here and when I saw that it had made it to the post office I made my move! 

The Difference 

How often in life do we want something but we don’t want to get off our butt and go after it? Maybe it’s a new job, a new relationship, an attendance boost or maybe even a new outfit. 

The easy part is wanting it but the hard part is going after it. I wanted my bracelet that had gotten to the post office! I got off my butt because I couldn’t wait any longer and I went there to see if my bracelet was there so I could have it. 

A go getter will always advance farther than a lazy bum. 

What The Bible Says

The Bible teaches us that we should go after and make an effort for the things that we want. God is not a God of handouts. I’m sorry to tell you that but God is a God who blesses prayer, faith and effort. Think about this, if I wanted to invite someone to church but never spoke to them would the come? Chances are no! 

Noah didn’t pray the ark out of the sky either, he went and built the thing. 

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” (‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:10‬) 

God will not forget what we’ve done for the kingdom. I believe that we as followers of Jesus should be the hardest working people on the planet because after all we have the greatest cause on the planet. 

You’ve got what it takes to make a difference and you’ve got what it takes to get things done. Don’t talk yourself out of what God has promised you. Ask God for what you need and take that step towards getting it.
